Here's What Our Families Say About AM-Tutoring

Alyssa has been tutoring my kids for 4 years. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She understands how the needs of each child are different, and keeps them focused and on task for the entire tutoring session. She is a pleasure to work with from a parents' standpoint, as she is always professional but at the same time realizes how busy all of our lives are and does her best to be flexible.  My kids absolutely adore her as do I.  She helps them in whatever way is needed that week and is invested and excited by all of their successes.

I noticed in Kindergarten that Calan was struggling in reading, spelling and writing.  Everyone kept telling me to wait and not get nervous because he is a boy.  Beginning of first grade, Calan was having tests in spelling and reading and was failing everyone.   Most of his classmates were doing well and not failing.  Calan become frustrated, calling himself dumb, lost his self-confidence and his vibrant, happy go lucky personality was no longer.  I called Alyssa and explained Calan's situation and she said she had the perfect match.  It was Donna, a former Benchmark Teacher.  I knew Donna would be able to help Calan as I had a daughter attending Benchmark School.  (The school is amazing but could not afford two children at Benchmark.)  It was in March of 2017, Calan began to tutor with Donna.  In a few short weeks, I noticed Calan was starting to read and spell. Calan would come home and be thrilled that he was no longer failing and making tremendous strides in all subject areas.  It is now Oct 2017 and we continue to work with Donna once a week.  Thanks to a team effort, I now have my happy go lucky little boy back.  Calan is excelling in school and on the soccer field.  (Soccer-making goals and even asked to join a travel team.)  Donna has many creative ideas and strategies that she works on with Calan.  (Calan uses them every day in school and on the field.)  Many thanks to Donna!  You have been an amazing gift!

Hi Alyssa - I just wanted to write a quick note of thanks for all your hard work with Sally over the last two 1/2 years. I have watched in amazement as her math and writing skills have greatly improved and her confidence has soared. She looked forward to your sessions every week and always had a big smile on her face when I picked her up. Her skills in organization and time-management have also improved and I know she will use all of these important skills with great success as she moves on to high school.  Oh, and muchas gracias for enduring all the unexpected Spanish homework.

Kathleen was absolutely amazing. She helped me become more confident when speaking Spanish and prepared me for my AP exam. I learned a lot from Kathleen and her tutoring sessions were extremely helpful.

Jenna helped prepare me for my AP exam in Chemistry. She worked through problems with me and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Jenna was great at helping me learn chemistry concepts that I didn't understand in class.

Hi Alyssa - I just wanted to forward this along to you and let you know how much we appreciate all you have done for Noah. (It's a letter from his teacher telling us he has reached his IEP writing goal). As you remember, we had some tough days in the beginning and I appreciate you sticking by him. He is graduating with a 91 average. It is unbelievable to see such a transformation. I always knew he could do it and you were a big part of his success.  Thank you!

Hi Alyssa!  I just wanted to write this to say thank you for all the tutoring help these last few years. When I think about it, these last 2 1/2years have gone by so quickly, and that’s only because you have been there! You’ve helped me with it all - Math, English, Science and even Spanish here and there. You’ve helped me to grow and become a better student AND person, and I can’t thank you enough for that. I can genuinely say that I looked forward to seeing you every week! High School can be intimidating to think about, but with your incredible support, I know I can do it. Your students in the future will be very lucky to have someone like you in their lives. Thank you for that little push that I’ve needed throughout these years to succeed… I think we all need that little push sometimes. 🙂
